Featured every year in lists of the best mince pies in the country, St John's pies are deep, chunky and packed to the gills with deliciousness!

The Filling

Rich sultanas, raisins and currants, plump with brandy plus bramley apples and and a few nibbed almonds for toothsome texture. Add cinnamon and nutmeg for the very taste of Christmas.

The Pastry

All-butter, of course. Crumbly, yet solid enough to keep the goodness within from bursting out.

To Accompany

Perfect with mulled wine, piping hot tea or (a St John favourite) a glass of madeira.

Eat as they are, or hot with brandy butter or thick double cream.
